I am a PhD candidate in Rhetoric and Composition at the University of Louisville. My primary interests include rhetorical theory, public and political rhetorics, and narrative. I’m currently working on a dissertation examining the role of online personal narratives in contemporary public debates with an eye toward the role of emotional engagement in circulation. This project continues some of my work from my MA thesis, completed at Miami University, which examined the use of personal narrative in eco-activist texts from the American South.
I teach undergraduate writing classes with a rhetorical focus and served as the assistant director of the UofL’s Virtual Writing Center for the 2014-15 school year, where I worked with distance learners.
My non-scholarly interests include knitting (I made the tank top in the picture), living with cats, comic books, and science fiction/fantasy. You can contact me at stephanie.d.weaver [at] gmail [dot] com.
